Better Understand our Colour Skill Levels
In preparation for our progress checks this term, we want to bring your attention back to this educational passage about our colour skill levels: At Twisters, we use different colours to represent different skill levels. Each skill level has between 15-18 skills across different apparatus’. For example, Badge & Stars focus is on the Olympic events (vault, bars, beam, and floor), whereas our NinjaGym focuses on parkour events such as wall, vaults, and rolls. All of our programs have a trampoline and body preparation component to ensure every member is building strength and spatial awareness along the way. Placing students in colour levels allows coaches to monitor their progress, and provide safe and challenging progressions based on the lesson plan for that specific level. The skills get harder as the levels go on, and each level has progressions and drills to achieve the final skill – whatever that may be! Beginner levels focus on basic movement patterns and body awareness, while intermediate and advanced levels start to see more skill development. We encourage our gymnasts and ninjas to try something new each time they come to the gym, whether it is a small progression, or a brand new skill, new things and exciting things are happening every day at Twisters! For more information on colour levels, please check out this blog by our Education Coordinator, Caylie!

Parent Surveys
We truly value the feedback we have been receiving through our surveys sent to you via email. When you do receive a survey, we kindly ask that you take the 1 to 2 minutes to complete it, and please be open and honest with your feedback regarding our venues and our coaches. Surveys are distributed in batches to ensure we can thoroughly review each response. We sincerely appreciate your responses to these surveys!
🌟Core Value Coach Award🌟
Congratulations to the following coaches for being the March winners of the Core Value Coach Awards!
NORTHCOTE – Coach Asher was awarded for the core value ‘We Make our Mates Better’. Asher has been doing lots of covers lately and has shown flexibility and a great attitude in adjusting his shift to begin earlier or finish later, based on what is needed on the given day. He has also recently joined the Tiny Tornadoes coaching team and has already received excellent parent feedback on his work with his Tinies classes!
SHOWGROUNDS – Coach Christie was awarded for the core value ‘Fun and Energy is Contagious!’. Christie is always engaged in her classes and connects so well with all of the kids. Her classes always look fun and energetic, and all of the kids are focused and interested in what they are learning. Christie’s classes adore her!
TORQUAY – Coach Courtney was awarded for the core value ‘Dedication to Go Beyond’ in her role as our Inclusion Officer. She has worked particularly hard this month to be available as a resource, as well as create resources to enable coaches and gymnasts to have great classes! A prime example of “We know what we are doing and we do it well. We care about EVERY person!”. Kudos, Courtney!
Northcote Car Park Reminder
A quick reminder to please only park in our marked Twisters car spaces. Our undercroft is a drop off/pick up zone only, for after school and weekend hours. Now that the cold, darker weather is in full swing, please consider your fellow Twisters attendees by using the drop off/pick up zone wisely so that everyone can be dropped off close to the door.
If you intend to stay for longer than 5-minutes we kindly ask that you find a spot for your car outside of the undercroft, or park on Beavers Road, or surrounding streets. During our daytime Tiny Tornadoes classes, parents are welcome to park in the undercroft car spots. We really appreciate your help with this!
