Twisters - July 2026

🌟Meet our Operations Manager, Amber!🌟
Amber is the embodiment of all our core values, but particularly ‘Dedication to Go Beyond’. Amber is across the running of all three locations and you will know when she’s around from her vibrant energy and genuinely happy laugh.

Let’s learn a little more about Amber and what lead her to become one of the most important people in the growth, development, and innovation of Twisters.
Hi, I am Amber and my role at Twisters is Operations Manager. I was born in South Africa and moved to Australia when I was 6. I started gymnastics at Jets Gymnastics in Eltham when I was 7yrs old. I quickly moved into the Elite Squad training 30hours a week (before school and during school). I broke my arm at the age of 9 and then stopped gymnastics and moved into Acrobatics. I did Acrobatics until I was 16yrs old when I broke my same arm for the second time(!), leading to my decision to have a break.

I started at Twisters just after I finished school at 18yrs of age. I started at the front desk when we only had our Northcote venue. We quickly grew to hundreds of members and I stepped into the Office Manager role, which I did for around 7 years.

As we grew from 1 venue into 3 venues, with hundreds of parents and kids to manage, it was clear that we needed a restructure. I became the Operations Manager, or the Integrator as I am known under our operating system. I am now 29 and in my 11th year at Twisters. As the Integrator, I work very closely with our Visionary, Sarah, who comes up with the amazing Twisters ideas. I have eyes across the whole business and make sure everything is running smoothly in the day to day of the business. I work mostly in the background and spend a lot of time in meetings and managing my 11 direct reports, so these days it is unlikely for you to see me in person. On the rare occasion that you do see me, I am always happy to say hello.

Gymnast of the Month
Congratulations to our Gymnasts of the Month!

Showgrounds GoM | Meklit

Here is why Coach Rosanna nominated Meklit…
I chose Meklit for Gymnast of the Month because she displays all of Twisters core values, but in particular ‘Be Curious and Brave’. Late last year, Meklit was thrown in the deep end when she started gymnastics as an older kid. However, with her attitude and dedication, she has fit right into the class and has become an exceptional gymnast all-round. Every week there is a new skill Meklit learns – most recently being a round-off dismount on beam. In fact, I can’t recall any skill that she has refused to try, even if it may seem scary or too difficult at first. What’s more, she is super curious, always asking questions about what we’re learning, all the while celebrating her peers’ progress as well. Congratulations Meklit!!
