Welcome to 2026!
We hope you all had a wonderful summer season, Twisters is back in action and so happy to see you in class again! All three venues returned on Monday 12th January. A friendly reminder that at the beginning of a new year we like to provide some time for students to get acquainted with their new classmates, coaches, and new schedule. You may feel your child isn’t being challenged during this first fortnight, however please keep in mind we pull our progressions right back to ensure students have time to settle into routine, and that any new students can learn the basics and landing safety. It is important that students have an appropriate amount of time to get their bodies used to moving for gymnastics again!
Unsure of your class time for 2026?
Twisters has sent an email and text message to update customers on 2026 preparation and class adjustments. If you remain unsure of your class time slot, we encourage you to log into your Parent Portal account. From here, click ‘manage’ under the students name to see their enrolment. Ensure to check for their 2026 session.
🌟 Core Value Coach Awards 🌟
Congratulations to the following coaches for being the December winners of the Core Value Coach Awards!
NORTHCOTE – Coach Julia was awarded for the core value of ‘Dedication to go Beyond’. Julia always puts 110% effort into every single part of her job and puts so much thought and care into everything that she does. She is an amazing leader who strives to ensure everything is running smoothly and everyone is performing at their best.
SHOWGROUNDS – Coach Evie was awarded for the core value “Dedication To Go Beyond”. Evie was one of the Showgrounds coaches to attend our annual first aid course. Although this training is not a requirement for her education level, she made the effort to participate and remained fully engaged throughout the course.
TORQUAY – Coach Indi was awarded for the core value of ‘Fun and energy is contagious’. Indi is always smiling, laughing and sharing her fun energy! Indi builds rapport with gymnasts easily and is great at bringing reluctant kids into class.

Northcote parking reminder
New year, same parking requirements! Our undercroft is a drop off/pick up zone only, if you intend to stay for longer than 5-minutes we kindly ask that you find a spot for your car in one of our parallel parks, or park on Beavers Road/surrounding streets. Melbourne summer is arriving quickly, daylight savings and warmer weather provides a great opportunity to park on surrounding streets and enjoy an afternoon walk down to Twisters! During our daytime Tiny Tornadoes classes, parents are welcome to park in the undercroft car spots. We really appreciate your cooperation.

Gymnast of the Month
Congratulations to our Gymnasts of the Month!

Northcote GoM | Lucy
Here is why Maddie Ivy nominated Hannah…
In my short time working with Lucy, she has showed persistent efforts to conquer her fears and progress her abilities! despite her fears, she accepted my (slightly annoying) amount of requests for her to continue trying scary skills, and I saw progress very quickly. Demonstrating the twisters value “Be Curious and Brave”. Lucy’s willingness to try despite her worries is uplifting and inspiring, reminding her peers and I of their ability to progress when utilising bravery and determination. Thanks Lucy you are a star!

Torquay GoM | Nora
Here is why Coach Erica nominated Erica…
I’ve nominated Nora as Gymnast of the Month for her incredible kindness and dedication, both in and out of the gym. Nora truly lives our value of “Make Your Mates Better” — she’s always the first to welcome new gymnasts, show them around, and check in to make sure they’re feeling comfortable and included. Alongside her positive attitude, Nora consistently puts in the hard work, practising her skills in the gym and at home as she strives to improve. Let’s take a moment to celebrate Nora for being not only a committed, hardworking gymnast, but also an all-round wonderful human!!
