Make-Up Tokens and Holiday Programs
A heads up that April holidays will be your last opportunity to use make-up tokens for holiday programs and workshops. After these programs of course you will still be able to use your tokens towards another class at any of our three locations. Tokens do not expire and will remain on your child’s account until you use them.
Now that lockdowns are a thing of the past, and families have been able to get their token levels back down, we are moving back to the use of tokens for alternate classes only.We really encourage families to put through their child’s absence in advance using the Parent Portal. Classes are fuller as we move back to our new normal but if we have an absence listed in the Portal, other parents will be able to book into that class while your child is away.

April Holiday Programs/Workshops
We will be running holiday programs and workshops at all three venues this April!
Northcote will have full and half day programs on offer for the first week, from April 11th to 14th. Northcote classes start back on Tuesday, April 19th, so we will only be running workshops during the second week of holidays.
Showgrounds and Torquay classes run right through the school holidays, therefore will be running 3-hour school holiday workshops during both weeks.
All sessions are available to book into now! Simply head to our website to get started.

Latest Honesty Post
If you didn’t see it, Sarah recently shared a very open and honest piece about how hard it has been to retain and hire staff since returning to the gym. We have no doubt this mass exodus is hitting a lot of small businesses outside of gymnastics, and we feel your pain — let’s hope we all come out on the other side of this with a bunch of fantastic new members on the team! If you missed it and would like to have a read, you can find it on Facebook here, or Instagram here.

We are hiring!
We’ve welcomed some wonderful new people to our team this year, but we are still seeking more at all three locations — Northcote, Showgrounds and Torquay!
If you’re looking for a job, love kids, appreciate flexible working hours, then working at Twisters may be the exact opportunity you’re looking for! We train staff from ages 14.5, up to any age! If you’re interested, please get in touch with Sarah on sarah@twistersgym.com.au for more information!
Coaching gymnastics is a brilliant job for a parent of school children, with our daytime classes starting from 9am and concluding no later than 2pm.  In particular, we are looking for one or more trainee coaches to work Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during the day at Northcote. We will provide all the required training so if you think kids are awesome and you like daytime hours then please get in touch!

Monthly Memberships
A reminder for everyone that fees are charged on the 1st business day of each month. Your fees are based on the number of classes your child will have that month, so you’ll notice it may vary slightly. Your fees are automatically debited from the authorised card you’ve placed onto your account. Have a new card or would prefer to use another? No worries, simply login to your Parent Portal account and you can update the details straight away! For any other FAQs you may have, please visit our website!

Northcote Carpark
Northcote parents, a quick reminder that we only have 18 allocated car parking spaces. They’re clearly marked out with purple lines and our logo. We kindly ask that you only park in these spaces or to park on Beavers Road and walk in. Also, parking in the loading zone is not permitted, we need to keep these spaces available in case of emergency. Thank you for your understanding!

Child Safety Corner
Social media has drastically changed over the past years, here at Twisters, we follow the Gymnastics Australia guidelines for child safety surrounding social media. If you’d like, you can read more about those guidelines here.
For us, social media covers Facebook, Instagram, our online training program Mighty Networks and our squad communication tool, Slack. What’s most important to note is that our coaches will not communicate with any gymnast individually. All communication is directed at parents and the group as a whole. We ask gymnasts not to try to contact coaches via social media, they’re not permitted to respond.

Gymnast of the Month
Congratulations to our December Gymnasts of the Month!

Northcote February GoM | Isla

Here is what coach Julia had to say…
Isla is an absolutely superstar! She always shows up to class with a big smile and a positive, can-do attitude. A few weeks ago, Isla mentioned how much she would like to be able to hold her handstand shape against the wall. She asked a lot of questions, worked hard and did some amazing handstands. She always makes sure to work her absolutely hardest and accomplishes new skills every week! She always assists her classmates with their skills and is a pleasure to coach! We are so excited to see how many more skills Isla accomplishes in the coming year…
