Thank you for a brilliant 2021!
We want to take a moment to say thank you! Even though it was (another) strange year, we really had a brilliant time when we could be in the gym. The kids came in with such energy, excitement and had so many stories to tell from their time in lockdown! Thank you for being kind and understanding as we navigated the new rules and regulations that were put in place. Thank you for sending in encouraging words and for sharing in our excitement as we brought Torquay together (even if it has taken longer than expected). We have the best gymnasts, ninjas and parents, and we are so grateful for you all being here!
Office Closures
Our office will be closed during Christmas and New Years, extending to the public holidays on December 27th and 28th, and January 3rd. Please feel free to email with your query as we will continue to monitor emails and respond to you in a timely manner!
January Holiday Programs/Workshops
We will be running full and half day holiday programs at Northcote in January 2022, from January 4th to 7th. Northcote classes start back on January 10th so from then until January 28th, we will only be running workshops.
Showgrounds will be running 3 hour workshops from re-opening, and they are ready to be booked into now!
Torquay, we will be running 3 hour workshops from the 4 – 7th January — please stay tuned to our website for more details!
Farewell Amber, Hello Finlay
All of you have had contact with our Officer Manager Amber in one way or another — she’s the one answering your calls and responding to your emails. Well, she has decided it’s time for a career move and finished up at Twisters early December. While we are sad to see her leave, the entire Twisters Team wish her the absolute best with this move and cannot wait to hear how she goes in this new career direction!
At the same time, we would like to announce that Finlay from our customer experience team will be stepping into the Office Manager role! We are so excited to see what she does with this opportunity… Congratulations Fin!
Coach Nick at Torquay
Coach Nick is making the move and will be spending his days coaching at our brand new facility in Torquay! We know he’s popular and is often sought after by gymnasts and ninjas alike, so we wanted to make sure you knew where he ended up… If ever you’re visiting during the school holidays, make sure to nip in and say hi as we know that he’ll miss you all!
Child Safety Corner
We are continuing to follow the health directions from the Victorian Government regarding COVID-19. We were very pleased that the rules have changed around mandatory vaccinations and entry requirements to indoor sport. Twisters have never wanted to turn any child away from participating in physical activity and now we can have everyone back.
We are excited that the vaccinations will soon be available to children 5 years and over so that the gym can become an even safer place than it was before.

Northcote November GoM | Isla
Here is what coach Lauren had to say…
I nominated Isla for Gymnast of the Month as she is an extremely hard working gymnast who is very persistent in achieving her goals. She is always asking how she can improve and works hard to progress her skills every single week. She truly is a fantastic role model to all other gymnasts!
I’m so proud of how far Isla has come this year even through the challenges of paused classes. Congratulations Isla!!
Showgrounds November GoM | Nadia
Here is what coach Caylie had to say…
I have coached Nadia since the beginning of 2021 and she has made me laugh every single class. Nadia is always so excited to come to gymnastics and to try new things. When we returned after lockdown Nadia had gained so much confidence and independence, this is why I chose to nominate her. Even though Nadia has spent months on lockdown when she should have been running, playing and exploring, she has come back seemingly unfazed. It is so wonderful to see Nadia’s confidence and skills process every week and I am so proud of her accomplishments.
Nadia recently conquered the beam all by herself! And continues to progress each week, and she’s only 3! I am so excited to watch her grow and learn more throughout 2022. Well done Nadia!
