Footy Colours Fortnight
Footy lovers! It is time to show your colours and support a very important cause.
Once again, Twisters will be running a Footy Colours event to raise money for the Fight Cancer Foundation, which helps provide support programs for children with cancer, allowing them to keep up with their schooling around treatment.
👉 When? Our event will run from Monday, September 5th to Sunday, September 18th
👉 What? We encourage all gymnasts, ninjas and families to wear their footy gear into the gym, and if possible, make a donation.
👉 Just for fun, alongside the overall Twisters tally, we will be keeping an eye on which venue raises the most money. Be sure to click on your venue name if you wish for your donation to count towards a specific venue.
👉 How? Simply head to our fundraiser page and donate or you can select your location from the bottom of the page!
Thank you so much for helping us raise money for the Fight Cancer Foundation and support kids with cancer 💜

Car Engines
A reminder to turn your car off when waiting for your gymnast or ninja at Twisters. Even if you’re waiting for only a few minutes, we would appreciate it if all cars can be turned off to avoid everyone breathing in the toxic fumes.

Northcote Car Park Reminders
If you or your kids are eating food outside, please ensure you walk down the driveway to find a suitable place to eat and you are not eating while sitting in our car parking spaces or over the edges of the walkway, therefore blocking car parking spaces for those looking to park. Simply put, our car spaces are not to be used as a lunch spot.
A reminder that our driveway is a one-way entry and exit (entry via Beavers Road and exit via Separation Street). We really appreciate your help with this!

NinjaGym Showcase
Here’s an update from our NinjaGym Coordinator, Coach Niamh!
We are very excited to have hosted our first ninja showcase at our very own Northcote facility. Ninja is a dynamic sport that encompasses aspects of gymnastics, parkour and imagination. Through the program we aim to develop strength, skills, agility, stealth as well as teamwork.
As expected, the gym was absolutely buzzing as the first ninja entered the doors, to when the last one left. We had three ninja missions, each focusing on a different aspect of our ninja program. First it was nunchucks, swords and laser courses that built fine motor skills, teamwork and also stealth.
We next had a huge ninja warrior course set up in which each ninja was timed whilst their team cheered them on. Finally, we had a vault ninja flow circuit in which the ninjas refined their skills focusing on safe skill connections. Amongst all this buzz, in between each zone, it was incredible to watch the ninjas have a moment of zen time in which the entire gym went quiet before moving to the next zone. I wanted to give a massive shout out to our wonderful ninja staff for bringing the energy and excitement, the incredibly resilient and enthusiastic ninjas but also to their families and role models. Thank you for supporting your ninja to be confident, courageous, encouraging yet also mindful. It was a wonderful event and we look forward to running many more in the future!

Child Safety Corner
Policies and Procedures in place to protect children attending Twisters
Twisters is far removed from the world of elite gymnastics. We are well and truly focused on helping kids Grow Through Movement, this is our mission. As a Gymnastics Victoria and Gymnastics Australia affiliated club, we welcome any changes to our existing Child Safe and Member Protection policies and procedures that our governing bodies require. For any interested parents, both our Child Safe Policy and Member Protection Policies (alongside others) are available on our website for a read.

Gymnast of the Month
Congratulations to our August Gymnasts of the Month!

Northcote GoM | Olivia

Coach Neave nominated Olivia, here is what she had to say…
I nominated Olivia for Gymnast of the Month because she is an absolute pleasure to coach! Each week she comes in with a big smile and a ready-to-learn attitude. She is curious and isn’t afraid to ask questions. Olivia is a great communicator and tells me when she’s unsure about trying a new skill or needs something more difficult. She’s emotionally intelligent and uses this to know her limits in gymnastics. Even though Olivia came late in the year, she gets along easily with her peers through her friendly nature, and is always encouraging of them. Her determination and kindness are contagious! Keep up the great work Olivia!
