🌟Meet our Member Experience Officer , Kasey!🌟
Kasey has recently moved to Australia from Scotland and despite being brand new to the world of Gymnastics, has embraced the Twisters Community with enthusiasm, curiosity and a genuine eagerness to learn. Over the past five months at Twisters, Kasey has learnt an incredible amount and continues to grow in confidence and knowledge every day. He truly resonates with one of our core values, Be Curious and Brave. Kasey is never afraid to ask questions, learn something new or take on a challenge. This mindset has allowed Kasey to develop quickly within his role.
Hi, I’m Kasey and my role at Twisters is Member Experience Officer, making up part of our customer care and admin team. I grew up in the teeny-tiny village of Muirkirk, Scotland, where there are definitely more cows than people, before moving to Melbourne last lear.
I have absolutely zero gymnastics background, but love meeting new people, helping others and just having a chat.
I started working in hospitality and somehow worked my way into management roles by the age of 18. After arriving in Melbourne, I worked as a restaurant manager before joining the Twisters team earlier this year.
A big part of my role is helping new members and families feel welcomed and supported, while also assisting our existing families with anything they need. It’s important to make sure our parents and grown ups feel just as included and looked after as our gymnasts!
My role covers all three of our venues, although I work from our Northcote gym. I’m usually floating around somewhere, so if you see me feel free to say hello, ask me any questions, or even just have a chat!

Northcote parking reminder
Another month, another parking reminder! Our undercroft is a drop off/pick up zone only, if you intend to stay for longer than 5-minutes we kindly ask that you find a spot for your car in one of our parallel parks, or park on Beavers Road/surrounding streets. With winter arriving, it is essential that you only use the undercroft to drop and go, or drop and then park in one of the surrounding streets, to make it fair for everyone to avoid the weather. If parking on the street, be sure to bring an umbrella for the walk from and to the car! During our daytime Tiny Tornadoes classes, parents are welcome to park in the undercroft car spots. We really appreciate your cooperation.
🌟GFA competition for our rec gymnasts🌟
The GFA competition hosted by Waverley Gymnastics will be held over the last two weekends in August. Gymnasts from all three locations aged 6 yrs+, enrolled in our Badge & Stars or Club Badges programs and elected to register, will be competing. Registrations are now closed. Questions from those who have registered their child can be directed to competitive@twistersgym.com.au or see the FAQs in the information emailed to parents.
An update – You asked, we listened
You told us that, at times, our coaches don’t always get the opportunity to speak with you about your gymnast’s classes and development.
We’ve listened to your feedback, and our coaches are now making a conscious effort to connect with parents and provide a little update on how their gymnast is progressing.
We believe this feedback and communication is a great way for our coaches to build stronger bond with both or gymnasts and their families. It also gives you the opportunity to ask questions and celebrate progressions.
Thank you for your feedback! We are always listening and looking for ways to improve your experience with us.
Not receiving our emails?
If you have noticed that you’re not receiving our emails, or they are landing in your promotions folder, we ask that you add our domain (@twistersgym.com.au) to your safe senders list.
Water Bottle Reminder
A friendly reminder to please send your gymnast to class with a spill proof water bottle. To help prevent spills around the gym, we kindly ask that bottles have a secure, easy to use lid and where possible not a screw on lid. This makes it easier and quicker for a gymnast to have a drink during class. We also ask that your gymnast’s name is clearly labelled on their water bottle. with so many bottles looking alike, this helps us return bottles to their owners if they are accidentally left behind. Thank you for helping us keep the gym tidy and making it easier for our gymnasts to stay hydrated!

Gymnast of the Month
Congratulations to our Gymnasts of the Month!

Northcote GoM | Gemma
Here is why Coach Neave nominated Gemma…
I have nominated Gemma for gymnast of the month because she comes to class every single week with a big smile on her face and a ready-to-learn attitude! Gemma’s love for gymnastics and trying new things is evident. She shows great bravery and persistence when attempting a new skill.
She is also very encouraging of her peers, which is lovely to see. Her enthusiasm and excitement uplifts the energy of the whole class! She consistently demonstrated our core value #FunandEnergyis contagious.
Gemma is a pleasure to coach, and we’r so proud of her progress so far!

Showgrounds GoM | Charlotte
Here is why Coach Luca nominated Charlotte…
Charlotte has been selected for gymnast of the month as she has been showing a growing display of our value fun and energy is contagious. I remember when we first started classes Charlotte would not want to join in until we moved to the zones but now she will happily join in the warm up with her friends Max and Lilly. I am very impressed by Charlotte’s growth and her progression with her gymnastics skills as she is learning more difficult things like her cartwheel on beam. Keep up the great work Charlotte and you will make an incredible gymnast!
Well done on showing our core value #BecuriousandBrave Charlotte!

Matilda has shown so much bravery when trying new skills, even when they feel a little tricky at first. She keeps giving things a go and doesn’t et challenges stop her. Her positive attitude and willingness to step outside her comfort zone has really stood out this month. So proud of the progress she has make and the confidence she is building each week Well done, Matilda! Keep being #Curiousandbrave and giving everything a go!
