šMeet our Tricksters Program Coordinator, Ben!š
Let’s meet Coach Ben who has recently taken on the role as the Program Coordinator for Tricksters!
For those who may not know me yet, Iām Ben, the new(ish) Program Manager for Tricksters! Over the past few months, Iāve been working closely on developing the programme and shaping the vision for where we want Tricksters to go moving forward.
At the heart of Tricksters is our vision: āWhere skills take off, strength builds, and confidence grows.ā. We want Tricksters to be a place where every participant feels challenged, supported, and excited to progress in their own way. The programme is built around five key pillars ā foundations, flow, team, strength, and choice ā which guide everything we do in classes.
One of the things Iām most passionate about is creating a choice-led programme where gymnasts are at the centre of their own journey. Alongside the core foundations and strength development, Tricksters are encouraged to set personal goals and work towards skills that excite and motivate them. Whether itās tumbling, wall skills, bars, flips, or fitness challenges, we want participants to feel ownership over their progress while continuing to build confidence, resilience, and teamwork along the way.
Weāre also placing a strong focus on conditioning and fitness circuits to help build the strength and body awareness needed for safe skill development and long-term progression. Iām really excited about the future of Tricksters and canāt wait to continue watching the programme ā and all of our Tricksters ā grow throughout the year!

Kingās Birthday Public Holiday Closure š
All three of our locations will be closed for the Kingās Birthday public holiday, Monday 8th June. Classes will run as normal across the weekend, and will resume as normal on Tuesday 9th June.
Have you seen our new Tinies handouts?
We have introduced a fortnightly handout to our Tiny Tornadoes program coinciding with the beginning of each new theme. On the front we have some information for grownups about key focus areas included in the lesson plan to give some insight into what your child is learning or developing, and why. On the back, a theme-related picture for our Tinies to colour!
āļøāļø Winter is coming! āļøāļø
With winter arriving, our Northcote and Torquay venues can get a little chilly. Remember, if you are staying to watch your child, you will need an extra layer or two to keep warm.
Your child is moving so they will be okay with a jumper or even a long-sleeve t-shirt inside the gym, depending on their preference. If wearing or bringing a jacket, make sure to leave it with your child’s shoes so that it doesn’t get left behind.
Northcote parents in particular – don’t forget your umbrella for the walk from and to your car if the weather is wet!
Talking with your Childās Coach
We value open communication with our Twisters families. If you have any questions about your childās progress, concerns of any kind, want to provide the coach on strategies that work to help your child focus or learn, or just want to check in, you can approach our coaches in the foyer before or after the class (the Team Leader or another coach can help you get the coachās attention if inside the gym).
Coaches try to catch up with all grownups a few times across the year, but they are also happy for you to reach out to them!
Not receiving our emails?
If you have noticed that youāre not receiving our emails, or they are landing in your promotions folder, we ask that you add our domain (@twistersgym.com.au) to your safe senders list.
Northcote parking reminder
Another month, another parking reminder! Our undercroft is a drop off/pick up zone only, if you intend to stay for longer than 5-minutes we kindly ask that you find a spot for your car in one of our parallel parks, or park on Beavers Road/surrounding streets. With winter arriving, it is essential that you only use the undercroft to drop and go, or drop and then park in one of the surrounding streets, to make it fair for everyone to avoid the weather. If parking on the street, be sure to bring an umbrella for the walk from and to the car! During our daytime Tiny Tornadoes classes, parents are welcome to park in the undercroft car spots. We really appreciate your cooperation.

Gymnast of the Month
Congratulations to our Gymnasts of the Month!

Northcote GoM | Margot
Here is why Coach Hanna nominated Margot…
I have nominated Margot for our May Gymnast of the Month because of the consistent efforts she makes to listen and engage with instructions. Along with Margotās progression in her active engagement, she tries hard to apply the corrections she is given. I can see Margot is dedicated to her own improvement and has recently shown many examples of this dedication through both her listening and application of feedback. Thank you for showing our core value, ‘ Be curious and braveā, Margot! Iām so excited to see you continue to progress!!

Torquay GoM | Xavier
Here is why Coach Grace nominated Xavier…
I nominated Xav as our Gymnast of the Month because he brings so much energy and excitement to every class. He is always eager to learn, listens carefully to instructions, and gives his best effort, even when things are challenging. Xav’s kindness and friendliness make the gym a happy and welcoming place for everyone around him! Good job, Xav! Thank you for demonstrating our core value, āFun and Energy is Contagiousā!! You are a superstar!
