Our Front Desks
We are having a lot of trouble with staffing our front desks. We will not be able to guarantee that there will always be someone at the desk to answer your immediate query for the remainder of this year. If parents can please email the office or call between 8am – 3:30pm Monday thru Friday so that we can promptly help you. Thank you for your patience and understanding with this!

Vaccination rates and what they mean for Twisters…
Under the current government direction, anyone 16 years and over must be fully vaccinated in order to enter a Twisters facility. This includes parents attending a 2/3 year old session, spectators, participants and Twisters staff.
The initial government roadmap communication outlines that once we hit 90%, anyone 12 and over will need to be fully vaccinated in order to attend. For those 12 – 15 year old members we will be in touch via email when this becomes a reality.
Use your make-up tokens with our Skill Specific Workshops!
We are very pleased to announce our line-up of skill specific workshops at Northcote!
These workshops are exclusive to current Twisters members and can only be attended by using make-up tokens. Showgrounds, we are still locking in staff so will be able to send out an update soon for your workshops.

How to book?
Easy! Once you’re logged in to your Parent Portal account, head to Camps and search for ‘Twisters Skills Workshops’. You’ll notice plenty of dates and focuses that you can book your Twisters gymnast or ninja right into!
How much do these workshops cost?
These workshops are only available to Twisters members, and cost 1 make-up token per child, per workshop. Once you’ve booked in, you will notice the make-ups removed from your account.
December Holiday Workshops
We also have holiday workshops available from December 20th to 23rd. They’re on the website (www.twistersgym.com.au) and are open for bookings now!
Remember that you can use your make-up tokens towards holiday workshops and programs, 1 token per hour. For example, exchange 3 tokens for a free holiday workshop. These can’t be booked through the website, so please get in touch with the office (admin@twistersgym.com.au) and we can help you get this organised.
We are hiring!
We have welcomed a few new faces to Northcote, but are still searching for more people to add to our dream teams at both Showgrounds and Torquay!
Given the number of staff that will be caught up in exposure sites, and just general illness, we want to ensure that our staffing stocks are high, and that we always have a teammate able to help out!
So, if you’re looking for a job, love kids, appreciate flexible work hours, then working at Twisters may be the opportunity you’ve been looking for! We train staff from ages 14, up to any age! If you’re interested, please get in touch with Sarah on sarah@twistersgym.com.au for more information!
2022 Class Planning
We know this seems sudden as we are only just getting back into the gym for the remainder of 2021, but it is already time to start planning for next year…
What does this mean?
👉 For any Tiny Tornadoes families, please keep an eye out for a Google form that will be sent out so you can tell us your plans heading into the new year. For example, will your little one need to move into an after school class, starting prep and so on.
👉 We will also be getting in touch with parents whose child will need to move class based on their age or skill level. These will be sent out via email before the end of the year.
👉 If you don’t receive an email, then it means your gymnast or ninja is fine to stay in their current class, no reason to move! However, if you need to move classes for personal reasons, we will have a period where our classes are blocked off to non-Twisters members. That way you have a chance to move classes and lock in your preference for next year before they’re open to new bookings once again.
Please keep an eye out for these emails in the coming weeks!
Torquay Update
Things are still ticking along very nicely at Torquay!
We’ve had André Bricknell come down to design the latest feature wall (luckily André was regional, and therefore able to get into the gym and paint as planned).
Our equipment is loaded on ships and on its way, but unfortunately due to Covid, has experienced delays… We now hope to be open by December 10th. A week this year is better than nothing and will mean the kids can come in and experience their first Twisters class, coming back in 2022 more excited than ever!
For anyone that holidays down in the Torquay area, we plan to offer a lineup of holiday programs, so make sure to check them out if you’d like the kids to still get a few days of gymnastics in!
CHILD SAFETY CORNER
We recognise how important it is for kids to maintain their physical activities, especially after they have missed so much these past two years… If your little one is starting prep next year, we wanted to make sure that you know that you can keep them enrolled just for January and February while they’re only attending 4 days a week at school. Bring them in for a session on their day off, when they move up, we can reassess how they’re coping with everything and go from there! School and activities, I think we’re all missing these basics about now…
