That’s a wrap on end-of-year skills testing!
It’s now time to check your child’s results and record on their Badge & Stars poster!
That’s great, but how?
• Login to your Parent Portal account, then go to My Account, then Students.
• Click on Evaluations, then onto the respective level for your child, for example, beginner or intermediate.
• Now take the time going through each skill area, floor, beam, bars and so on. If there’s a yellow star highlighted next to the skill, it means that your child has passed that skill and needs a stick on the corresponding skill on their poster!
Testing FAQ’s
I don’t have a poster or stickers?
If your coach hasn’t presented you with a poster or stickers yet, please head to the front desk so that we can help you out!
We missed testing, now what?
We have a few make-up testing dates available over the next two weeks (sessions are first come, first serve). To book yourself into a make-up testing session:
• Login to your Parent Portal account.
• Go to Bookings, then Make-up Testing.
• Select your preferred day and time, then simply follow the prompts.
Why has my child only passed a few skills?
There could be a few reasons… If your child was away for one of our testing weeks, unfortunately, they will have missed out on some of their testing. Don’t worry! Your child will be tested again during the middle of next year or you can book into a makeup testing session during the next 2-weeks.
We only test half the skills on each colour skill level during each testing period. So if your child has only just started with us, they’ll be tested on the second half during our mid-year testing in 2023.
How long will it take for my child to pass their skill level?
During each testing period, kids are working towards approximately half of their colour level skills. For beginners, we expect that it will take kids a year, to complete the skill level. For intermediate a year, to a year and a half. For advanced, we expect it to take a year and a half to two years to accomplish all the skills on their poster.
My child has achieved all the skills on their poster, now what?
First of all, that is awesome! Congratulations to your amazing gymnast or ninja, they should be so proud that they’ve passed all their skills! This is a huge achievement… 🥳
What happens next is simple, your coach will provide you with a new poster for the next skill level, and a badge to mark the achievement of passing their current skill level. Well done!
Holiday Programs and Workshops
Yes, it is already that time of year… Our holiday program dates for December and January are open for bookings!
You can take a look at the schedule and get yourself booked in, here.
2023 Class Planning
We can’t believe that we’re getting ready to wrap up the year. Our first year back after COVID and it really has been amazing in so many ways! Down to it, we’re planning for next year. What does this mean?
👉 For our Tiny Tornadoes families, you have already been sent an important email regarding your classes for 2023. We’d love to know your plans heading into the new year, for example, will your little one need to move into an after school class, be starting prep and so on. If you have not received this email please get in touch!
👉 We will be getting in touch with parents whose children will need to move classes based on their age or skill level. One of our lovely staff members will attempt to call you, if you miss the call, no worries, we’ll send you the information via email before the end of the year, so please keep an eye out!
👉 If you don’t receive a phone call or email, then it means your gymnast or ninja is fine to stay in their current class, no reason to move! However, if you need to move classes for personal reasons, we will have a period where our classes are blocked off to non-Twisters members. That way you have a chance to move classes and lock in your preference for next year before they’re open to new bookings once again.
👉 Torquay, you can expect emails too! We fully intend to be open for classes in January, so we’d like to touch base with you all as well!
Inclusion Update from our Inclusion Coordinator, Lauren
Fidget Toys Etiquette
If your child has borrowed a fidget toy to support their learning during classes, please ensure they return the fidget to our ‘return box’. We have had a handful of our fidgets go missing since introducing them, and unfortunately can’t keep replacing them. Please ensure that they are returned so we can continue to have these helpful tools available to support your child’s learning during their classes at Twisters. Thank you for your help with this!
Child Safety Corner
Coaches Education Dates
Our coaches are awesome! They are constantly educating themselves to provide the best possible classes and experience for your children. Twisters hosts workshops, courses, education practice sessions, we’re always doing out best to give our coaches the opportunity to grow their knowledge and skills.
All this to say, you might have noticed fewer holiday program options for your children in December, but this is for a very important reason… We will be running an advanced salto course, a beginner coaching accreditation course and first aid training during this time. Our coaches put so much effort into achieving their qualifications, we all appreciate your understanding on this!

Gymnast of the Month
Congratulations to our November Gymnasts of the Month!
Northcote GoM | Alexander
Coach Niamh nominated Alexander, here is what she had to say…
If I were to use three words to describe Alexander as a ninja, it would be polite, hard-working, and motivated. As soon as he steps into the gym he is ready to work and focus. He has great spatial awareness, strength, and agility. He is safe, thoughtful of the people around him, and always willing to help out! Alexander is also wonderful at listening to coach instructions and taking on feedback. He always thinks about his skills before attempting them, which has helped him improve on and achieve many skills such as his Ninja laches, rolls, and vaults. Not only does Alexander always try to improve his own Ninja skills, but also helps the other students to remember the activity, a true team player. He loves using his imagination to make Ninja challenges even more exciting and always has a big smile on his face!
